Low

Hello friends.

As I write this we are just back from a few shows in Spain. The people there always blow the roof off. Thanks to Gorka and everyone who came out to see us. It was a great trip to finish off what has been a powerful and exciting year for Low and the Chairkickers family. Let me lightly review (in reverse):
In November, Low played our first ever show in Poland — we were treated way more graciously than we deserve and had a great show. Hope to go back soon. We then did three Christmas shows in the UK with our friends Ida. These were unique and humbling to be part of — thanks and happy holidays to everyone. We have a new Christmas 7" out now and a sweet video for it. You can see it here. We also plan on putting a few remixes up on the site, so stay tuned.

Retribution Gospel Choir played the Halifax Pop Explosion, a bunch of shows in the UK with MIcah P. Hinson, and the Tanned Tin Festival in Spain — everyone loved us and we were always dressed well. Should have a new RGC LP out by summer this coming year.

Low will be recording this winter, hopefully have something out late 2009.

In September, we played in Tel Aviv. I am always amazed at the feeling of being so far away from home and being welcomed like brothers and sisters simply because of music, but never has this impressed me more than on our trip to Israel. I highly recommend that people consider visiting there. Meet the people, eat the food and swim in the Mediterranean. Next we went up to play the End of the Road Festival — great festival, great crowd, bad day for me and I apologize. Days later we were at All Tomorrows Parties in New York — I think the My Bloody Valentine set flattened my immune system for 3 days.

The summer and spring are sort of fading in memory but it's been a great year. We have a new president — a new light in everyone's eyes, a new chance to be one. Thanks for all your kindness this year. Be strong.

Love, Alan and all at Chairkickers
